Elaborate proposal gestures rank up there as one of the most entertaining forms of public spectacle. Seeing one person surprise their significant other with something they love, especially if that something is a reveal from someone famous, is equal parts awesome and heartwarming. They’re like gender reveal parties, except with a lower fatality rate. Over the weekend, one man set a new standard for celebrity-endorsed proposals after enlisting the help of world-famous singer/songwriter Adele.
Quentin Brunson was looking to propose to his girlfriend of seven years, Ashleigh Mann, which is why he sent a minute-long video to Adele requesting her aid. Adele, who is currently in the middle of promoting her new album “30,” ironically deemed by many as her “divorce album,” was happy to provide her services. As it so happened, Adele was scheduled for her “One Night Only” CBS music special at Griffith Park in Los Angeles, so with assistance from the crowd, Adele and Brunson engineered the perfect proposal.
After a picnic near the show venue, Brunson brought Mann up to the stage blindfolded, then revealed the venue full of fans and celebrities to her and popped the question. Mann accepted, and Adele emerged from behind the curtains, dedicating a performance of “Make You Feel My Love” to the two of them.
Oh, your proposal sounds nice…But let me tell you about the time my husband proposed to me at #ADELE One Night Only in front of the biggest stars in the world.

Following the event, CBS caught up with the happy couple to get their perspectives. “I started tearing up and I’m like, ‘I can’t be out there crying.’ So I tried to get out there and get it done. It was a lot. It was very overwhelming for sure,” Brunson said of the proceedings.
“I’m pretty sure we’re all best friends now,” Mann added. “Hopefully, they’re coming to the wedding. But all I was thinking is thank goodness someone had a tissue. He knew I was going to cry like a 5-year-old.
