This apology follows a series of contentious incidents involving West, including the spreading of antisemitic conspiracy theories to Fox News host Tucker Carlson and making threats of violence against Jews on social media. These actions had repercussions for his career, such as losing his billionaire status after Adidas ended their relationship with him due to the refusal to tolerate hate speech.
In response to allegations of inappropriate conduct in the workplace, Adidas has launched an internal inquiry into West. Additionally, a recent video showed West singing along to an antisemitic track with R&B singer Chris Brown, further exacerbating the criticism against him.
This is not the first time West has faced backlash for his antisemitic actions, as he previously had his contracts with Adidas and Balenciaga terminated due to his rants on social media. His Twitter and Instagram accounts were also restricted following antisemitic outbursts.
