Epic Games’ Fortnite has evolved beyond being just a video game and now serves as a content platform that offers movies, music, stories, and a vibrant community. The game has now transcended its original purpose and has become a lucrative entity. This success has allowed them to enlist the participation of the popular singer Ariana Grande.
Over the weekend, Epic Games announced that starting from Friday, August 6, Fortnite will host the “Rift Tour,” a series of concerts that will take place in various in-game venues. The headline act for these concerts will be Ariana Grande, who will appear as a digital avatar sporting a specially designed outfit.
Describing the event in a press release, Epic stated, “From August 6-8, take a musical journey into magical new realities where Fortnite and Ariana Grande collide. Dive into the Rift Tour.”

The concerts will run on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with multiple shows on Sunday. Apart from the performances, there will be a special event playlist where players can obtain limited edition in-game items. All Fortnite players can attend the concerts for free, but Epic recommends arriving an hour early for the event playlist as previous events of this magnitude have strained the servers, resulting in some players being unable to join at the last minute.
Prior to Ariana Grande, other major music artists like Marshmello, Deadmau5, and Travis Scott have also performed in Fortnite, with Travis Scott making an appearance as a hologram in one of the events.
