Epic Games’ Fortnite has evolved beyond just being a video game to become a significant entity in pop culture. It now serves as a content platform, offering movies, music, stories, and fostering a vibrant community. Fortnite has transcended its initial gaming origins and has secured a major collaboration with pop icon Ariana Grande.
Recently announced by Epic Games, starting this Friday, August 6, Fortnite will introduce the “Rift Tour,” a series of concerts hosted within various in-game venues of Fortnite. The primary attraction of these concerts will be the digital representation of Ariana Grande, complete with a specially-designed outfit.
“From August 6-8, embark on a musical adventure that merges the worlds of Fortnite and Ariana Grande. Immerse yourself in the Rift Tour,” Epic detailed in a press release.

The performances will run on Friday, Saturday, and three shows on Sunday. Alongside the concerts, a special event playlist will allow players to collect limited edition in-game items. Attendance to the concerts is free for all Fortnite players, with Epic advising participants to join the event playlist an hour in advance to avoid any technical issues. Previous large-scale events in Fortnite have strained Epic’s servers, causing some eager attendees to miss out on the fun.
Notably, Ariana Grande joins a prestigious list of music stars who have featured in Fortnite events. Artists like Marshmello, Deadmau5, and Travis Scott, who appeared as a hologram, have previously entertained Fortnite players with virtual concerts.
