# BTS Addresses United Nations General Assembly
From an outsider’s perspective, the enormous dedication of BTS fans is truly remarkable. These seven young men have a global following that is always eager to support them. Their widespread popularity has made them a household name and recently led them to address one of the most exclusive assemblies globally, the United Nations General Assembly.
Today, all seven BTS members took the stage at the UN General Assembly to deliver a heartfelt speech about their experiences in the world today and the challenges faced by young adults. They were granted this opportunity after being appointed as “special presidential envoys for future generations and culture” by South Korean President Moon Jae-in. During their speech, they emphasized the significance of online connectivity and communities, a sentiment that was echoed by over a million BTS fans who flooded the UN’s official YouTube stream chat with messages of support.
“We thought the world has stopped, but it continues to move forward. Every choice we make is the beginning of change.”

The members expressed their optimism about the ability of their generation to be remembered for uniting as a community, despite facing challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic that have physically separated them. RM mentioned, “I’ve heard that people in their teens and 20s today are being referred to as covid’s lost generation. I think it’s a stretch to say they’re lost, just because the path they tread can’t be seen by grown-up eyes.”
