Betty White is one of the most beloved faces in television history, with her role as Rose on The Golden Girls just the tip of a massive iceberg of success. Besides her roles in front of the camera, White made monumental strides behind it, including being the first female producer of a sitcom and the first female recipient of an Emmy award. White’s been in entertainment for almost as long as she’s been alive, and considering she’s turning 100 years old today, that’s a long heckin’ time. If you’re a fan of Betty White, and really, who isn’t, you can celebrate her monumental life along with her at your local movie theater.
Today only, movie theaters around the United States will be running Betty White: 100 Years Young, a celebratory docu-film presented by Fathom Events. The film will present clips from White’s many years in television, including The Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and her stints on Saturday Night Live, just to give a few examples. There will also be behind-the-scenes clips of the shows as well as shots from her personal life, all culminating in a first-person view of White’s actual 100th birthday party.
According to the official event description, the film will feature appearances by a myriad of celebrities, including Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli, James Corden, Wendy Malick, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
