Disney’s US-based parks, like Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California, have been enforcing a mandatory face mask policy since the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. Over time, this rule has been adjusted depending on the fluctuating COVID-19 situation. Now, with a steady decline in cases nationwide, the latest change might mark the final relaxation of the rule.
Walt Disney World Resorts announced on their website that starting on February 17, fully vaccinated guests at any US Disney park are no longer obligated to wear face masks on park premises. However, they are free to continue wearing masks if they choose to do so. Guests who are not fully vaccinated must still wear masks at all times. Additionally, all visitors must wear masks while using enclosed park transportation such as buses and monorails.

The announcement stated, “As we have done since reopening, we’ve been very intentional and gradual in our approach to our COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Based on recent trends and regulatory guidance, Walt Disney World Resort will be making adjustments to these measures, which may continue to change at any time without notice.”
Industry analysts suggest that this decision aligns with Universal Orlando’s recent move to lift face mask requirements for vaccinated visitors last Saturday.
