Living without technology is almost unimaginable in today’s society, but there is one exception – Christopher Walken. During an appearance on The Late Show with host Stephen Colbert to discuss his latest movie, Wild Mountain Thyme, Walken revealed that he has never owned a cell phone or computer.
When asked why he refrains from using electronics, Walken explained, “I just got to it too late. I think I’m right at a certain age where it just passed me by. And I never got involved in it because it would be strange to have any 10-year-old be much better at it than I am.” He compared cell phones to watches, noting that if needed, someone else always has one.

Walken confessed that the only time he interacts with a phone is on set, where it functions more like a tracking device for him. “Sometimes on a movie they’ll give me a cell phone, but it’s more so that they can find me… like a tracking collar. If I want to use it, someone has to dial it for me, that kind of thing,” he shared.
