On Sunday, rock band Foo Fighters performed live at Madison Square Garden, marking their first solo show since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event, where all attendees were required to be fully vaccinated, drew a large crowd of fans. Despite some pushback from anti-vaccination protesters outside, the band delivered an electrifying performance.
Lead singer Dave Grohl expressed his excitement, stating, “We’ve been waiting for this day for over a year. And Madison Square Garden is going to feel that hard. New York, get ready for a long ass night of screaming our heads off together to 26 years of Foos.”
The night featured a mix of classic hits and captivating cover songs, including a special moment when comedian Dave Chappelle joined the band on stage to sing Radiohead’s “Creep.” Drummer Taylor Hawkins also took on lead vocals for Queen’s “Somebody to Love,” and the group showcased a track from their latest Bee Gees cover album, “Hail Satin.”
The Foo Fighters just brought out Dave Chappelle to sing “Creep” for the first concert at Madison Square Garden since covid. Incredible.

During a moment of reflection later in the show, Grohl acknowledged the support that led them to this performance, reminiscing with guitarist Pat Smear. The show, which marked the band’s 26th anniversary, was also dedicated to their late stage manager, Andy Pollard, who passed away recently.
