Last week, Demi Lovato, the singer, and actor, announced the launch of a new podcast called 4D with Demi Lovato. In this podcast, Lovato plans to engage in deep conversations with special guests exploring topics such as identity, creativity, and social movements. Lovato also shared that regardless of one’s identity or beliefs, everyone should embrace life in its entirety. With this recent revelation about their own life, Lovato will have much to discuss on their podcast.
In an Instagram post, Lovato publicly identified themselves as non-binary, not conforming to traditional male or female gender categories, and expressed their preference for they/them pronouns.
“Every day presents a new opportunity to be true to ourselves,” Lovato wrote. “I have grown up in the public eye, showcasing various aspects of my life. This journey has not only been personal but also shared with all of you watching from afar.”
Continuing, Lovato stated, “I am thrilled to share another part of my life with you today—I affirm my identity as non-binary and will now be using they/them pronouns. This decision follows a period of self-reflection and healing. I am still evolving and discovering myself, and I do not claim to have all the answers. By revealing this now, I expose a deeper layer of my vulnerability, hoping to inspire others who struggle to express their true selves.”
In the first episode of 4D, released today, Lovato opens up about their non-binary identity alongside writer, performer, and public speaker Alok Vaid-Menon. Lovato mentioned that their conversation will delve into not only broader themes of identity but also provide personal insights into their journey towards self-acceptance, aiming to inspire others to live authentically.
