Buzz remains a beloved character in Disney’s lineup, and it’s high time he got a feature film dedicated solely to his story.
Today, Disney and Pixar unveiled the first trailer for ‘Lightyear,’ a film delving into the backstory of Buzz Lightyear. It is likely the movie that inspired Andy in Toy Story to want the Buzz Lightyear action figure, but ‘Lightyear’ appears to exist in a separate universe from the original Toy Story.
The trailer gives a glimpse of Buzz’s cosmic adventures, showcasing his exploration of space and encounters with alien civilizations, set to David Bowie’s iconic song “Starman.” Interestingly, Chris Evans will voice Buzz Lightyear in ‘Lightyear,’ departing from Tim Allen’s portrayal in the previous Toy Story films.
