Former President Donald Trump recently held a rally in Conroe, Texas, reaffirming his intention to run for president in 2024. Despite being impeached for his involvement in the January 6th Capitol riot, Trump was acquitted and remains eligible to run for office again.
During the rally, Trump pledged that if he were to win the 2024 election, he would pardon individuals who had been arrested for their roles in the Capitol attack. He stated, “If I run and if I win, we will treat those people from January 6th fairly. And if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons because they are being treated so unfairly.”
“This man is corrupt … If given the opportunity, he will try to steal the election again. He will try to overthrow the government again,” Rep. Gallego says on former President Trump. https://t.co/xjwqVgTXtH

More than 700 individuals have been arrested and charged with federal crimes related to the insurrection on January 6th, as part of an extensive investigation by the Department of Justice. This investigation is the largest in the department’s history, with charges ranging from assault on police officers to conspiracy against the government.
Despite the violence and chaos caused by his supporters, Trump has refrained from denouncing those involved in the riot. Instead, he has praised their loyalty to him, a stance that has drawn criticism from many quarters.
