Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been securing various movie roles recently, featuring in major action hits such as the latest Fast & Furious installment and the upcoming Black Adam. Among these successes are films inspired by or linked to video games, like Rampage and the more recent Jumanji movies. Johnson has been getting involved with the gaming world, even appearing in cutscenes as a crucial character in Fortnite. Following his gaming experiences, Johnson seems to have developed a liking for it, as he is now preparing for another video game-based film.
In an interview with Men’s Journal, Johnson hinted at a new movie project based on a video game, although he did not reveal the specific game it’s centered on just yet. He mentioned, “I can’t tell you which game in particular we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year. We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen — one that I’ve played for years.”

Although the game that serves as the inspiration for the film remains undisclosed, Johnson expressed his dedication to creating a movie that appeals to both fans of the game and those seeking an enjoyable cinematic experience.
“I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world,” he added. “Of course, we’re going to do right by our gamer friends — but really we’re just going to make a great movie.”
