The iconic prop from the 1990 film “Edward Scissorhands,” featuring Johnny Depp as the lead character with razor-sharp hands, has seen a significant increase in value. The hands, a memorable part of the movie, were acquired by Propstore, a film memorabilia auction house. Initially estimated to sell for around $40,000, they fetched an impressive $81,250 when they were auctioned off recently.
Experts attribute this surge in value to Johnny Depp’s current prominence in the entertainment industry following the resolution of his legal dispute with ex-wife Amber Heard. His renewed popularity has contributed to the heightened interest in items associated with him, such as the iconic scissor hands from the film.
Johnny Depp’s resurgence in popularity apparently knows no bounds — even the value of his movie props are skyrocketing in the wake of his trial victory — including his famous scissor hands. https://t.co/fnTu9xfjMa

Another item of Depp memorabilia, the motorcycle he rode in the 1990 film “Cry Baby,” is also set to be auctioned at Propstore. The 1955 Harley Davidson Model K chopper has an initial asking price of $250,000. Given the success of the Scissorhands prop sale, it is anticipated that the motorcycle may surpass its initial valuation as well.
