Filming Completed for ‘Winnie the Pooh’ Horror Movie

Winnie the Pooh, the adorable bear known for his love of honey, is commonly associated with Disney. However, the character was originally created by author A.A. Milne and the stories entered the public domain at the beginning of this year. This allows anyone to create Pooh-related content without legal issues.

Recently, stills from the finished filming of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ were revealed. This horror slasher film portrays Pooh and Piglet as savage forest dwellers hunting for blood after being deserted by Christopher Robin. Produced by Jagged Edge Productions, the film is helmed by horror enthusiast Rhys Waterfield, who is responsible for directing, writing, and co-producing. In response to the buzz generated by the stills, Waterfield affirmed a swift post-production process without compromising quality.

“Due to the extensive publicity, we are fast-tracking the editing and post-production while ensuring the final product meets our standards. It’s a top priority,” Waterfield informed Variety.

While the character of Pooh is now in the public domain, specific portrayals remain under Disney’s control. Therefore, the script for the movie had to be carefully crafted to avoid any legal complications. Waterfield emphasized the meticulous attention paid to ensure the film was solely based on the 1926 version of the character.
