Recently, Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, decided to donate all the profits from their game for a limited time to various charities aiding Ukraine amidst the Russian invasion. After two weeks of this initiative, Epic disclosed the remarkable amount that was raised.
During this period, the collaboration between Epic and Fortnite’s players collected an impressive $144 million, which will be contributed to relief organizations such as Direct Relief, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and the World Food Programme.
“Our sincere gratitude to all those who stood with us in supporting humanitarian relief for the Ukrainian people impacted by the war,” Epic expressed on the official Fortnite Twitter.

Besides Epic Games, several major video game developers and publishers also contributed to the Ukraine relief efforts by donating a portion of their proceeds. Notable companies like Microsoft, Riot Games, Humble Bundle, and Itch.io participated in this endeavor. Itch.io, in particular, raised over $6 million through a collection of independent games, books, music, and tabletop gaming manuals. Humble Bundle’s similar package of products raised over $20 million.
