Actor and comedian Gilbert Gottfried, known for his distinctive voice and comedy, has passed away at the age of 67. His family announced on Twitter that he died due to heart complications from recurrent ventricular tachycardia, a condition he battled for years.
His family shared, “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to his iconic comedy, Gilbert was a loving husband, brother, friend, and father. Please continue to laugh loudly in his honor.”
Gottfried was famous for his bold comedy and his roles in films like Problem Child and Beverly Hills Cop II, as well as his voice work in Aladdin and Family Guy. Despite facing criticism for his controversial humor, he believed that comedy and tragedy are closely connected.
