Many people enjoy chicken nuggets. The popularity of chicken over beef has been on the rise in the past decade, leading top poultry producers to increase production to meet demand, fueled further by the success of crispy chicken sandwiches from chains like Popeyes. With a focus on reducing the consumption of animal products, Impossible Foods, a plant-based company distinct from Beyond Meat, has introduced their 100% plant-based chicken nuggets. These nuggets are crafted from natural proteins and nutrients, with soy protein forming the base to provide the right texture and quality protein essential to our diet. Sunflower oil adds juiciness, amino acids and sugars contribute to the savory chicken flavor, and vitamins offer nutrition. Culinary ingredients like starch and methylcellulose help bind the nuggets, retain moisture, and provide more fiber compared to animal meat.
Impossible Foods’ new plant-based chicken nuggets are now available in approximately 150 restaurants and will soon expand to grocery stores, entering a competitive market. Source

These nuggets are currently being served in select US restaurants, with plans to release a frozen version in supermarkets by the end of September. Although Impossible Foods had aimed for an earlier launch, the inclusion of yeast additive heme, allowed in the US but not in China or the EU, caused a delay as they adjusted the recipe to comply with regulations.
