Jim Carrey has decided it’s time for a change and that includes his living space.
Actor Jim Carrey, known for his roles in both drama and comedy films such as Sonic the Hedgehog, has been living in a sizable Los Angeles home since 1994. Originally bought for $3.8 million, Carrey has opted to put the house up for sale as he looks to shake things up in his life.
Speaking to the New York Post, Carrey expressed, “For three decades, it’s been a sanctuary for me but I don’t spend a lot of time there now and I want someone else to enjoy it like I have.”
In a statement to the Wall Street Journal, Carrey described his home as a place of “enchantment and inspiration” that has been pivotal in his very creative and prosperous 30 years.

Carrey shared his sentimental connection to the home, saying, “Every night the owls sang me lullabies and every morning I sipped my cup of joe with the hawks and hummingbirds, under a giant grandfather pine.”
The property, featuring five bedrooms and nine bathrooms, is on the market for $28.9 million and is being handled by Sotheby’s International Realty – Santa Monica-Venice Brokerage. Carrey has not yet revealed his future plans or where he intends to reside after leaving his LA residence.
