Jim Cramer, a well-known investor and host of CNBC’s Mad Money, shared today that he and his wife have tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently isolating at home.
Cramer mentioned on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that he contracted COVID-19 on Thursday night after attending an event that required PCR testing. He believes he got infected from an individual who tested positive on the same day. He emphasized the rapid transmission of the virus, stating, “The problem is it works so fast. You can’t stop it.”
Despite being fully vaccinated with two doses of the Moderna vaccine and a booster shot, Cramer is facing mild symptoms. On the other hand, his wife, who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine followed by a Moderna booster, is experiencing slightly more severe symptoms.
Encouraging vaccination, Cramer highlighted the importance of vaccination in reducing the severity of the illness, stating, “If you’d like to lessen the chance of getting very sick, I think you should get vaccinated.” He expressed gratitude for the protection provided by the vaccines, comparing his current experience to a mild cold in comparison to past illness.
Regarding the state of the stock market amid the Omicron variant concerns, Cramer expressed optimism, suggesting that despite the prevailing gloom, there may be opportunities. He advised against selling in panic and advocated for a strategy of buying during turbulent times.
