Continuation of Rick and Morty Production Without Roiland
Justin Roiland, a writer, actor, and co-creator of the popular animated series Rick and Morty, recently faced serious legal charges. He was accused of felony domestic abuse in Orange County. The charges included domestic battery with corporal injury and false imprisonment during a relationship with an unidentified woman in 2020. Roiland denied the allegations and posted a $50,000 bond to avoid jail time. However, if found guilty, he could encounter fines and imprisonment.
This week, Adult Swim, the network that airs Rick and Morty, declared that they have parted ways with Roiland. The network made an official statement on the Rick and Morty Twitter page, stating, “Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty will continue. The talented crew is already immersed in working on Season 7.”
