Renowned rapper Kanye Omari West, known for various nicknames throughout his career, has officially adopted the name ‘Ye.’ Kanye referred to ‘Ye’ as one of the frequently used words in the Bible, meaning “you.” Recently, Kanye West decided to make ‘Ye’ his legal name.
In August, Kanye filed a petition to change his name from “Kanye Omari West” to just “Ye” for personal reasons. Eliminating his middle and last name, he opted for a single moniker like “Prince” or “Sting.” The Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted his request, making ‘Ye’ the only name Kanye will go by.

This decision, while surprising to some, is not entirely unexpected. Kanye’s eighth studio album was titled “Ye,” and as early as 2018, he expressed his preference for being called ‘Ye’ over Kanye West. Even when naming his first child with Kim Kardashian, he considered “Ye” before eventually choosing Psalm. In 2019, he also contemplated changing his name to “Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West,” a notion that was eventually abandoned.
