Located in the Appalachian Region and the seat of Madison County, Huntsville has experienced rapid development in its metro area.     Additionally, the city has been listed as one of the best cities to retire in and as one of the most affordable cities. Huntsville is also ranked as the top place to live in Alabama, earning it the title of “the star of Alabama”.
