Since its debut in 2020, Locke & Key has been a surprising success on Netflix. The intriguing mix of supernatural intrigue and endearing characters resonated well with audiences, leading to high ratings and a loyal following. As a result, Netflix decided to renew the show for additional seasons. However, it has now been confirmed that the upcoming third season will be the final chapter for Locke & Key, a decision that the show’s creators believe will offer a fitting conclusion.
Executive producers and co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith expressed their thoughts on the conclusion of the series, stating, “When we initially envisioned the show, we believed that three seasons would be the perfect length to bring the Locke family’s adventures at Keyhouse to a satisfying end. As storytellers, we are grateful for the opportunity to present our take on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s remarkable story in the way we envisioned. We might just hold onto the magical keys for our personal enjoyment.”
