Big events like music festivals were among the first casualties when the pandemic hit. Large crowds and close contact didn’t align with health and safety measures. Despite the ongoing uncertainty, some events are determined to make a comeback, and one of them is the renowned music festival, Lollapalooza.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced that Lollapalooza will not only take place this summer but will operate at full capacity. No distancing or masks required, just music. The festival will feature popular acts like Foo Fighters, Post Malone, Tyler, the Creator, and Miley Cyrus.
Lightfoot expressed her excitement stating, “Here in Chicago, ‘Lollapalooza’ signifies summer, great music, and unforgettable fun. With an available and effective vaccine, we are thrilled to bring back this iconic summer music festival.”
Lollapalooza returns.
The festival will return later this summer following public health guidelines. Attendees must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative test to participate.

While the festival promises its usual excitement, one non-negotiable requirement is proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. No exceptions will be made in this regard.
In a promotional video for the event, Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “What’s up Chicago? I’ll see you this summer with my good friends, the Foo Fighters.”
Lollapalooza 2021 is scheduled to take place from July 29 to August 1. For those still contemplating vaccination, attending this festival could be a compelling reason to get vaccinated.
