Employees Encouraged to Sleep at Twitter HQ
Following a round of layoffs at Twitter and the ownership shift to Elon Musk, a new intense work culture has been introduced. Musk emphasizes a demanding work ethic, expecting employees to work nonstop every day of the week. This has led to employees being prompted to sleep at the San Francisco headquarters of Twitter.
According to a report by Forbes, employees arriving at the office this week discovered that some offices and conference rooms had been transformed into makeshift bedrooms with basic bedding and large monitors.
An anonymous insider at the company shared with Forbes that the sudden appearance of these sleeping areas was not officially communicated to the employees, describing it as disrespectful. Another source mentioned that given the late working hours, having sleeping areas on-site makes some sense.
Despite some workers being uneasy about the idea of sleeping at their workplace, there are some who see it as an improvement as they were previously sleeping on the floor with sleeping bags.
