“While it’s not likely to happen after mentioning it, it’s still something I deeply desire.”
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star Mckenna Grace opened up about her dream roles in a recent interview with PopBuzz.
In the latest Ghostbusters installment, the Spengler family returns to the iconic New York City firehouse where the original Ghostbusters revolutionized ghost-catching.
When an ancient artifact unleashes a malevolent force, new and seasoned Ghostbusters, including Mckenna’s character Phoebe Spengler, must unite to protect their city and prevent an impending ice age calamity.
“I have two ultimate roles in mind. Like most young girls, I’ve always dreamed of being a Disney princess since I was a child,” she shared.
Sharing her love for Tangled, she expressed, “Tangled holds a special place in my heart. I’m absolutely captivated by it. I’ve already watched the movie about three times this year.”
While discussing the possibility of a live-action Tangled, Mckenna showed her excitement for the role but added, “Just mentioning it might not make it happen. But it’s still a dream close to my heart.”
Her other dream role? A big-screen adaptation of the theatrical production Heathers.
“Heathers is my all-time favorite musical,” Mckenna revealed. “I always hoped for a movie version of the musical, similar to what was done with Mean Girls. I thought that would be incredibly cool. Those are my ultimate dreams.”
In addition to her love for musicals, Mckenna also has notable musical and vocal talents. It would be fitting for her to explore a role in a music biopic in the future.
In fact, Mckenna has her sights set on two iconic figures. The first one being Britney Spears: “She was the first person that came to my mind. I admire her.”
It turns out Britney’s music was the soundtrack to many car rides for Mckenna.
“I used to live two hours outside LA,” she recalled, “and had to commute to LA every day. I had a Britney Spears Greatest Hits CD playing on repeat during those car rides. For five years straight.”
Mckenna was born just a week after Taylor Swift’s debut single ‘Tim McGraw’. Could she see herself portraying Taylor in a biographical movie someday?
“At first, I thought of Taylor Swift, and…yes! Who wouldn’t want that opportunity? I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan,” she shared.
