‘MultiVersus’ Introduces Alpha and Beta Testing, Unveils New Characters

In November, Warner Bros. Games revealed MultiVersus, a free-to-play fighting game inspired by Super Smash Bros., featuring a range of characters owned by WB. The roster includes iconic characters like Batman, Superman, and Bugs Bunny, along with unexpected choices like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo and Garnet from Steven Universe. Recently, the developers announced an upcoming closed alpha testing phase, with additional testing planned for the summer.

A new trailer released today disclosed that after the closed alpha from May 19 to May 27, a closed beta period will follow at an unspecified date in July. Interested players can sign up for the alpha on the MultiVersus website, with beta registrations likely opening in June or July. The alpha will be accessible on all intended platforms, such as PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam. These early testing phases will be free, but not all registrants will receive access.

Alongside the testing phases, the new trailer unveiled additional characters joining the game: Velma from Scooby-Doo, Taz (Tasmanian Devil) from Looney Tunes, and the Iron Giant, who is thrilled to be alongside Superman.

The official release date for the full game is yet to be announced, with developers aiming for a launch by the end of 2022.
