Renowned rapper Nicki Minaj is currently facing legal action regarding unpaid bills for custom jewelry. Minaj’s attorney denies any wrongdoing on her part, suggesting that the jeweler’s motives are driven by a desire for publicity rather than legitimate claims.
A jeweler in West Hollywood has filed a lawsuit against Minaj, alleging that certain borrowed jewelry pieces were returned damaged, a departure from the norm in celebrity borrowing practices.
According to documents, Nicki’s stylist, Brett Alan Nelson, signed a contract with Roseark jewelry store to borrow jewelry for public appearances. The agreement mandated the return of items within a week and held Brett accountable for any damages incurred while in his possession.
Roseark claims that Brett failed to return 66 jewelry pieces by the agreed deadline, and upon their return, visible damage was observed on specific items.
Following the incident, Roseark reportedly sent invoices to Brett for damages totaling $26,239.50 plus interest, which allegedly remain unpaid. Consequently, the jeweler initiated legal action against both Minaj and her stylist to seek compensation.
In response, Minaj’s attorney, Jordan Siev, emphasized that there is no evidence implicating Nicki in the damages and described the lawsuit as an attempt by the jeweler to attract attention and secure unwarranted payments.
The outcome of the lawsuit will determine Minaj’s involvement in the jewelry damage dispute. For now, Minaj maintains her innocence, with her legal team poised to challenge the allegations.
