Recently, there were speculations about Nintendo launching an upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch called the “Nintendo Switch Pro” with enhanced features like a larger screen, better processor, and improved graphics. Despite the absence of this rumored model, Nintendo surprised everyone by introducing a new and improved version of the Switch.
Nintendo has announced the launch of this upgraded model on October 8, just in time for the holiday season. While there isn’t an official name to distinguish it from the original model, this new version boasts several enhancements. The most significant change is the introduction of a 720p OLED screen, which promises a clearer display compared to the standard LCD screen. Additionally, this updated Switch comes with 64 GB of internal storage and includes a built-in wired LAN port in the system dock for users who prefer a wired internet connection. The model also offers “improved audio,” although details on this upgrade remain sparse. Notably, the redesigned kickstand is now much more robust with a wide adjustable flap for better stability.

While there were rumors circulating about upgraded processing power and graphics, Nintendo has clarified that the new Switch does not feature any enhancements in these areas, and the included Joy-Cons are similar to those of the base model. Nintendo has also cautioned that if you use the Nintendo Labo mounts, the new console may not fit as seamlessly as the older version.
The enhanced Nintendo Switch will hit the market on October 8, priced at $349.99. Consumers can choose between the standard neon red and blue Joy-Cons with a black dock or opt for the two white Joy-Cons with a white dock.
