On June 12, the 2021 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is scheduled to take place after a hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, to prioritize safety, it will be an online event with livestreams by various publishers and developers from June 12 to June 15. Nintendo has announced their E3 presentation, which will occur on the last day of the event.
Nintendo will stream an E3 Nintendo Direct presentation on June 15 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time, Noon Eastern. The 40-minute presentation will focus solely on new games for the Nintendo Switch and will not feature any updates on a new Switch console. Following the presentation, Nintendo Treehouse Live will showcase gameplay from the new titles for approximately three hours.
Nintendo has not disclosed what specifically to expect during the presentation, though rumors suggest updates on highly anticipated titles like Metroid Prime 4, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a new Mario game, and insights on Bayonetta 3. Additionally, there may be news on a new character for Smash Ultimate and information on Shin Megami Tensei V.

Rumors have been circulating about an upgraded Switch console termed “Switch Pro.” If Nintendo plans to unveil this console, it may happen before the E3 presentation, which leaves only a few weeks to confirm or debunk these rumors.
