The United States is making progress in the fight against COVID-19. Vaccination rates are increasing, case numbers are dropping, and some states are easing restrictions. Despite this positive trend, many adults in the US are hesitant to get vaccinated, citing concerns about side effects or personal beliefs. To help change minds, Global Citizen organized the “Vax Live: The Concert to Reunite the World.”
Vax Live is a major concert event scheduled to air this Saturday at 8:00 PM Eastern Time on various platforms including ABC, CBS, YouTube, iHeartMedia radio stations, and Fox at 11:00 PM. The concert will feature performances by artists like J Balvin, Foo Fighters, Jennifer Lopez, and special appearances by celebrities such as Ben Affleck, Jimmy Kimmel, Olivia Munn, David Letterman, Chrissy Teigen, and even President Joe Biden. Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, is one of the campaign chairs for the event and used the platform to emphasize the importance of vaccination during these challenging times.

Addressing the audience, Prince Harry expressed his gratitude, saying, “You’ve spent the last year battling courageously and selflessly to protect us all. We owe you an incredible debt of gratitude.” He emphasized the importance of global vaccine distribution, stating, “The vaccine must be distributed to everyone, everywhere. We cannot rest or truly recover until there is fair distribution to every corner of the world.”
Harry also highlighted the prevalence of misinformation surrounding vaccines and the importance of seeking accurate information. He underlined the need to confront issues of vaccine equity and misinformation head-on, saying, “If vaccine distribution matched the speed of misinformation, countless lives could be saved.”
