Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are beloved by many, and a recent promotion by Hershey that offered giant 9-inch long Reese’s “pie” versions of the classic treat quickly captured the hearts (and stomachs) of fans, selling out within hours.
The special Reese’s “pie” was essentially an oversized Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, weighing 3.25 pounds of chocolate and peanut butter. Bo Jones, senior associate brand manager at Reese’s, highlighted the dessert as a perfect addition to any Thanksgiving table, stating, “When you bring together friends and family for Thanksgiving dinner, no table spread is complete without dessert.”
With only 3,000 of these massive treats produced, each priced at $44.99, the demand was high. Shortly after the announcement and launch of the store page, all 3,000 pies were completely sold out, showcasing the immense popularity of the special promotion.
Commenting on the quick sellout, the official Reese’s Facebook page noted, “Looks like Reese’s fans were really thankful for the new Reese’s pie this year as it is now sold out,” and suggested fans try making their own version using Reese’s peanut butter with provided recipe ideas.
