After the success of Deadpool and recent hits like Free Guy and Red Notice, Ryan Reynolds has become a prominent figure in Hollywood. Known for his comedic timing and versatility in action films, Reynolds recently completed filming his latest project, Spirited, alongside Will Ferrell. Following this significant milestone, Reynolds announced his decision to take a break to focus on himself and his family.
Reynolds shared on Instagram, “Singing, dancing, and working with Will Ferrell fulfilled many dreams. This marks my second project with the amazing @octaviaspencer…” He added, “It’s the right time for a brief hiatus from filmmaking. I will miss every moment spent with this incredibly talented group of creators and artists.”
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Reynolds revealed the pressures he has faced. “I often bury my anxiety by immersing myself in work and, to some extent, in achieving success,” he admitted. “I tend to take on more than I can handle.”
“Perhaps it’s the typical Canadian mentality: ‘I made a commitment, so I must follow through,’” he reflected. “Sometimes, I sacrifice my well-being in the process.”
“I tend to obsess over things,” he confessed. “This is a major source of my anxiety. I find myself laying awake at night, analyzing every possible scenario.”

In a separate interview with ET, he shared his experience working with Ferrell and his decision to prioritize family time. “Will embodies everything you would wish for off-screen,” Reynolds noted. “He’s a truly wonderful person. He made me pause and reflect on things.”
“We share a similar outlook,” he continued. “Family is our top priority. For me, it’s about spending quality time with my children before they reach their teenage years and possibly start disliking me.”
