Guests Required to Stay in the Park Until Negative Test Result
On Monday, visitors to Shanghai Disney resort were surprised to receive a sudden message while at the park informing them of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the premises. Following China’s strict “zero-COVID” approach, the park had to close for the day, and all guests were instructed to stay on-site until they could provide a negative COVID-19 test result.
During this period, no new visitors were permitted to enter or leave the park as authorities secured the entrances. Videos recorded by guests showed a large crowd trying to exit the park upon the announcement, only to discover the gates locked and guarded. While awaiting test results, the park operated with limited capacity, offering only a few rides and attractions.

This incident marks the second time Shanghai Disney has closed with guests inside due to COVID-related measures, the previous occurrence being last November when 30,000 visitors were required to stay in the park for testing.
