Due to concerns surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals have grown wary of spending extended periods in movie theaters in close proximity to others. For audiences to flock to cinemas, the movie presented must be an undeniable blockbuster hit. Thus, it comes as no surprise that the spotlight falls on Spider-Man, a beloved character.
During its debut weekend, Spider-Man: No Way Home, marking the third installment in an MCU trilogy centered around Peter Parker, known as Spider-Man, not only broke pandemic-era records but also created history in theaters. The film generated over $260 million in domestic box office revenue within its first weekend, surpassing Sony’s initial revenue projections by $7 million. This accomplishment places No Way Home as the second-highest grossing domestic film in theater history, overtaking the position previously held by 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. Avengers: Endgame remains the only film to outperform this feat, generating $357.1 million in profits during its opening weekend.
Spider-Man could gross $1 billion without China. That’s bananas https://t.co/L3KTOyFJJV
