The play will explore a story before the events of the main series.
Stranger Things continues to be a standout success from Netflix, drawing in audiences with its ongoing production of the next season. In the meantime, there are more tales to uncover about Hawkins and its enigmatic happenings, even beyond the realm of streaming.
An original stage adaptation of Stranger Things is making its way to the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End. Titled “Stranger Things: The First Shadow,” the play was crafted by series writer Kate Trefry with approval from the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers. It is based on a narrative developed by the Duffer brothers and writer Jack Thorne, with Stephen Daldry leading the entire production.
The story is a prequel set 25 years before the first season of Stranger Things, presenting younger versions of characters like Hopper and Joyce as they confront the early emergence of darkness in Hawkins.
A ‘STRANGER THINGS’ prequel stage show will premiere in late 2023.
