Netflix recently announced a new project, a modern take on the beloved sitcom That 70s Show called That 90s Show. The series is set two decades after the original show’s ending.
The streaming service confirmed that the majority of the original cast will return, including Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, and Debra Jo Rupp. The only missing cast member is Danny Masterson, who portrayed Hyde, due to ongoing sexual assault allegations against him.
In That 90s Show, Smith and Rupp will have recurring roles as Red and Kitty Forman, while the other original cast members will make guest appearances. The series will follow Leia Forman, played by Callie Haverda, Eric and Donna’s daughter, as she spends her summer in the 90s with her grandparents, interacting with the next generation of the Point Place group under the watchful eyes of Red and Kitty.

The show has been approved for a 10-episode run on Netflix, although the exact release date is yet to be announced. The original series creators, Bonnie and Terry Turner, with their daughter Lindsey Turner, are leading the production as head writers and executive producers. Interestingly, this isn’t the first attempt at a That 70s Show revival, as Fox aired That 80s Show back in 2002 but it got canceled after one season due to poor ratings.
