Isaiah Lee will not be charged with felonies but is facing misdemeanor charges.
Last week, during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl as part of Netflix is a Joke: The Festival, comedian Dave Chappelle was unexpectedly tackled on stage by a man identified as 23-year-old Isaiah Lee. Lee was swiftly arrested and taken off the premises.

Lee is facing four misdemeanor charges, which include battery and possession of a weapon. He had a replica gun with a folding knife blade on his person at the time of the incident. However, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office announced that Lee will not be charged with felonies for his actions.
“After examining the evidence, prosecutors concluded that while there was criminal behavior, it did not meet the criteria for felony charges,” said DA spokesperson Greg Risling in a statement to CNN.

The venue owners are now implementing enhanced security measures to ensure the safety of performers. “We are reassessing our current security protocols internally and with external experts to maintain a safe and secure environment at the Hollywood Bowl,” said Sophie Jefferies, the public relations director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. “We have increased the number of security personnel on-site for bag checks and other security procedures.”
Despite the incident, Chappelle managed to finish his performance and is fully cooperating with local law enforcement in their investigation.
