Braugher received the diagnosis only a few months ago and his private battle with lung cancer came to an end on December 11, after a brief illness. Known for his impressive career, Braugher gained fame with two Emmy Awards for his role in NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street” and later captivated audiences as Captain Ray Holt in the popular series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” which aired for eight seasons on NBC and FOX.
Braugher’s portrayal of Captain Holt was a significant moment for LGBTQIA+ representation in media, earning him two Emmy nominations. His influence extended beyond the screen, evident in the heartfelt tributes from his “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” co-stars.
