In recent years, VTubers, who are streamers that use animated avatars instead of live facecam feeds, have gained immense popularity on platforms like YouTube and Twitch. On YouTube, many of the top earners from streaming superchats are VTubers. On Twitch, another VTuber has just wrapped up an impressive marathon stream, setting a record in the process.
Twitch VTuber Ironmouse, known for her diverse streams involving gaming, watching YouTube videos, and interacting with fellow streamers and VTubers, completed her “subathon” event this morning, streaming continuously for 31 days. During the stream, there was a countdown timer that viewers could extend by subscribing and tipping. At various points, when the timer was about to run out, Ironmouse received a significant influx of new subscribers, leading to several extra hours being added to the timer.
Thanks to overwhelming support from fans, Ironmouse has achieved the third-highest record on Twitch for all-time peak active subscriptions with 170,088, ranking just below two of Twitch’s most prominent streamers, Ludwig and Ninja.
Today is the end! We finished on day 31 and I am overjoyed. Thank you all for one of the greatest months of my life. I am eternally grateful for all your love and support and I am just shocked at all the milestones we hit. Thank you all I love you! See you tomorrow! pic.twitter.com/3hKjhT3qsI
