In a move to bring together a diverse range of beloved characters owned by Time Warner, Warner Bros. Games, in collaboration with Player First Games, has unveiled ‘MultiVersus,’ a platformer fighting game similar to ‘Super Smash Bros.’ The game will feature a mix of characters from various properties under the Time Warner umbrella.

The character roster confirmed for ‘MultiVersus’ includes iconic figures like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy from ‘Scooby-Doo,’ Bugs Bunny from ‘Looney Tunes,’ Arya Stark from ‘Game of Thrones,’ Jake the Dog and Finn the Human from ‘Adventure Time,’ Steven Universe, Garnet, Tom and Jerry, as well as an original character called Reindog.

All characters will be voiced by their long-standing voice actors, adding authenticity to the gameplay. Notably, Shaggy will have a unique power-up aura reminiscent of Dragon Ball transformations.

‘MultiVersus’ will offer various gameplay modes including one-on-one battles, team battles, and four-player free-for-alls. Character abilities will focus on teamwork, with unique interactions between characters. For instance, Bugs Bunny can create tunnels for teammates to navigate through. The game will be free-to-play, supported by in-game purchases and will introduce a season-based structure with a battle pass. Additionally, ‘MultiVersus’ will offer cross-play and cross-progression functionalities, allowing players to engage across different consoles seamlessly.

The anticipated release of ‘MultiVersus’ is scheduled for 2022 on platforms including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam.
