After the initial introduction of Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 11 operating system, speculations arose about its release timing. There were thoughts of a December launch for the holiday season or a November launch coinciding with the 11.11 date. Surprisingly, Microsoft has opted for a different approach by aiming to release it as soon as possible.
Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 11 will be commercially available on October 5, 2021. Similar to the transition from Windows 8 to 10, the upgrade to Windows 11 is free for download for those interested. New PCs will come pre-installed with Windows 11 instead of Windows 10. The upgrade will roll out gradually, starting with newer devices and expanding to other devices over the following weeks.
“Building on our experience with Windows 10, we strive to offer the best user experience with Windows 11,” stated Aaron Woodman, general manager of Windows marketing at Microsoft. “We aim to provide the free upgrade to Windows 11 to all eligible devices by mid-2022.”
Despite the appeal of 11.11, the wait for #Windows11 is over. Available starting October 5th, details are now accessible.

For current Windows 10 users, the Windows Update app can be used to verify their computer’s compatibility with Windows 11 upon release. Additionally, you can utilize the new PC Health Check app for a detailed analysis of your system’s readiness for the upgrade. If you prefer to stick with Windows 10 (especially considering past update issues), Microsoft has committed to supporting Windows 10 until at least 2025.
